A Liebster Nomination!!

This morning, I was scrolling through my most frequented sites, sipping a coffee and watching Shmidt the kitten harass Little dog when I came across a lovely comment from the even lovelier Katrien over at Creatrieneke who was nice enough to nominate me for the Liebster Award! I am delighted to even have followers and comments, never mind an award! 🙂

For those of you who are not familiar with the Liebster Award, it is an award given to Bloggers, from Bloggers. To receive an award, you should have less than 200 followers and the goal is to small blogs you like and help them get discovered. I think it’s a great idea and a nice gesture.

The Rules

1- Mention the person who nominated you on your own blog and link them.

2- Answer the 11 questions chosen by the person who nominated you

3- Nominate 5 to 11 more blogs you like who have less than 200 followers

4- Create your 11 questions

5- Let your nominees know!

Quick and easy!

Eleven Questions from Katrien:

1. Could you discribe your own blog in 3 words?

Easygoing, Life(mine), Hobbies

2. What’s you favorite dish? Would you share the recipe with us please?

I like many dishes, but I pretty much like anything in a sweet & sour / honey garlic type sauce and it’s a super simple recipe:

Brown sugar + Soy Sauce+ Garlic (fresh or powdered, depends what you have on hand). I never measure, I just go by taste!

3. Do you have a favorite quote?

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.- Lao Tzu

4. How does your weekend normally look like?

Well, every third weekend I work Saturday and Sunday, but otherwise it varies. Sometimes I stay home and read, walk with the dogs, or catch up on some mail, other weekends we look for a little something to do out and about; a little road trip, a trip to the city for some shopping, a trip to a quiet beach in the summer… I like to stick with quieter things 🙂

5. How much time do you spent on blogging?

Not a whole lot. I probably should put a bit more time and effort into it, maybe proofread a little 😛 But I don’t like to go back an read old posts much. If I post something, chances are I am excited about it right then and there and if I don’t post while I am still excited about it, I won’t post at all.

6. Are you a frequent library visitor?

Sadly no.

7. What’s your best childhood memory?

Visiting the local library to stock up on my favourites: Boule & Bill, Yakari and the Smurfs comic books, Babysitters club books and Kids mystery books! Ahh the good old days! 🙂

8. When did you last surprise someone and with what?

Ermmmm..I’m not great with surprises. I like doing nice things, but I’m not good at building up the surprise. I prefer to make people try to guess what I’m doing or going to do. I suppose the last decent surprise I pulled off was for my husband at Christmas, I did a type of Advent calender which consisted of various little things hiding on our tree such as cheesy little notes, planned mini dates and such. Every day he would chose one of the things on the tree, open it, and Surprise! 🙂

9. What’s your favorite blog?

It’s a tough call, but I’d have to go with the Happy Hermit. It’s not a blog that really has anything to do with what I post about here most of the time, but I’ve been following it for a long time, before I even had this blog actually, back when I was still posting over on my travel blog! I don’t read every single post, but the posts I do read are almost always quite enjoyable, and despite having over 22 000 followers, he is quite involved in the comment section and seems to take an interest in his readers.

What is your favorite season of the year?

Fall/Autumn!! For sure! I much prefer a cool breeze and hoodie weather with some colourful leaves crunching under my feet than a hot muggy day!! Not to mention pumpkins, Halloween, Harvest, Cheap travel, and Hot apple cider! Autumn just FEELS cozy!

11. What’s todays’ weather like in your country ?

It’s a clear day here in Nova Scotia, Canada, some light clouds and -2 degrees down from yesterdays lovely 1 degree. It’s a good day for some snowshoeing! 😉

Now I need to do some research on who to nominate and this post is getting longer than I tend to like having so I will put my nominees and questions in …

Hello Shannon, thanks for your lovely comment, I’m blushing now 🙂 Looks like you found those snowshoes! Mmm…strange sauce, but I will defenitly try it on of these days and let you know how it tasted. “Bollie en Billie” were a big hit here too 🙂 And thanks for the blog tip.

Aha yes! My dad is lending me a pair of snowshoes at the moment 🙂 Hehe Bollie and Billie are the best! I went to French schools/lived in a French speaking town so I got Boule et Bill, but LOVED them! 😛 As for the sauce, it’s something you would use to cook chicken in( like a marinade) or pour over rice, or my favourite; with meatballs and rice 🙂
