Incoming from the Netherlands and the USA

With spring keeping me busy( yardwork, housework, enjoying the sunshine and caring for a puppy-on-the-mend), I’ve had little time to devote to snail mail. Thus, the lack of snailmail posts ( and the lack of posts, period!). My mailbox had been having a slightly drier spell anyways, but Friday brought with it a nice of bright mail from Kate in the Netherlands. As per her quirky self she used some Halloween and Christmas stationery for her mail tags which she then joked about. She always has something funny to say! 🙂 It was wonderful to hear from her in a nice long letter and hear about how she is adjusting to life in NL.

I had the whole weekend to reply to her letter and on Monday, I received a letter from Jaclyn in Tennessee. I was really excited when I found the envelope was stuffed to the brim and had a little customs form on it; goodies!! Jaclyn always write very old time style detailed letters which I quite enjoy. She always includes dates, distances, colours and all the little things you need to really picture what she is talking about!

As the customs form promised, I did get goodies; two beautiful postcards to show me the area she lives in and an extra flowery one, as well as lots of tea!Unfortunately, I was bad and drank one before I got around to taking pictures 😛 I was pretty excited about the loose leaf tea too, we both enjoy it, so it will be nice to trade some of our favourites!! ^^

I’ve finished my reply to Kate in NL and will be making a post about it later and hope to be finished my response to Kate by Monday. This incoming mail pace is perfect for this time of year!!

Australia is so picky about tea. :/ You can send it around the country all you like, but sending tea to Australia from overseas is a customs no-no. Colour me jealous.

Owww shucks!! Canada is that way about seeds, so while everyone is happily sending pretty flowers in the mail and such I’m sitting here like -.- My mother in law has been sending me little seed packets in greeting cards or letters though and because the type of packet she buys doesn’t rattle much, they’ve gotten here with no issues!! I bet it would be the same for you and tea! If sent in a normal letter that doesn’t say CONTAINS TEA, you’d probably be fine 🙂
