As mentioned previously, Monday, I received a nice long letter from my penpal Kate, who is currently living in the Netherlands. We are still in the early stages of our penpalling, but I have definitely picked up on the fact that she loves cats. Perhaps in was the kitty collage from her first letter, or maybe it was simply the fact that she said ” I love, love, love cats” 🙂
Anyway, she really enjoyed the last handmade envelope I made her, so I thought I would give it a go again, this time using the free calendar I got from the vets office with this little guy!! Isn’t he a cutie? I made him a little ribbon collar to hold his ” home address” on as the mailing address label, and though I made the envelope so it would open from the top so he would be sitting straight up, I opted to put the address and stamp in the proper form to avoid any trouble or extra cost in the mailing process.
I simply used lined paper for her letter and didn’t do much decorating, simply because I had lots to say and ended up writing her 7 pages plus the mail tags which are an up-cycled tiny piece of sturdy wrapping paper. I’m hoping my eagerness to write will not put me over the weight limit for a standard stamp, however, if it does, I’ll be sure to add some tea and stickers to the packet to make it worth the while 🙂
